After two bum weekends in a row, I finally.. well, I didn’t hit one out of the park but it was definitely a double.
I had a good weekend. Friday night was Culture Shock, my weekly online RPG that I GM. We finished Season Two with a bang, destroying most of Tokyo and killing a Junkion-style Orochi with two magic guns, a bounty hunter and a sex ninja. I’d explain more, but I kind of like that summary as is. The players were happy with the ending, which is good, because most of season two sucked badly in my opinion prior to the big finale. I finished the night working with Music Generator and wrote the previous LJ post.
Saturday it was movies at Josh’s. I didn’t see anything new and only stayed for three reels. Got sick on chips and had a nap and a headache. So, not a smashing success there. Also loitered a little without doing much when I got back.
Sunday, however, was off the charts. I got down to work with Music Generator the entire damn day and tweaked the songs I had made on Friday, and developed a few new ones. Now I have an OP and one image song for each cast member, for a total of 6 songs. I may do an ED tonight. This program r0xx0rz, but I do think I’m gonna exhaust my palette of possible beats and loops sooner or later. Plus, none of my songs go over two minutes before running outta steam. Maybe it’s just my intolerance of repetition. I’m gonna try to get the songs posted ASAP, but my computer will be down Weds-Thurs, and I still need an audio cable to sample ’em with.
Sailor Nothing… well, no progress. Part of me is annoyed that I haven’t gotten to work on part 9 or revamped 8 like I planned, and I’m not living up to my commitments. Part of me says things are going well for me right now and that I’ve got the right to spend my time creatively as I see fit. I think both parts are correct. Reconciling that’s not easy.
Today I’m off to an awards ceremony; I’m part of a group getting an award for our stellar work setting up the center for webcasting. Personally I think we could’ve done a hella better job than we did since we still don’t have a good scheduling system in place, but I guess some progress on ‘new’ technology for a government org is better than none.
So, in summary: Wai, semishiny day! And that’s okay. ^_^
