I was mistaken — it’s not just ME they want out of the house. Mom and Dad get chased out whenever anybody drops by too! So, it’s not so much ‘hide the weirdo’ as it is ‘hide the occupants, period.’ We used the time away from home to buy me some games, hit Red Lobster, rent some movies, etc. Nice family bonding, so, I’m in a much better mood. It’s still annoying to be displaced from home, but I can cope for one weekend.
Real estate is a strange, strange business. Maybe I want work some of this into Unreal Estate, although that story is less about home selling than it is the concept of ‘Home’.
Against my better judgement, I bought Gran Tourism A-Spec today. Purty graphics and neat cars lured me in even if I have no sk1llz whatsoever. Maybe I can learn ’em now that I’m driving my own car (I wasn’t when GT1 came out). I tried an arcade-mode quick race with C class cars, picked a Mini Coupe, and MAN, it wasn’t much better than a freakin’ riding lawnmower… but if I hack my money supply like I did in GT1, maybe I can revive Satan’s Station Wagon, my beloved racing conversion tricked out four door station wagon that could lap a Mercedes with ease. >8)
I also bought Max Payne, since I’ve never seen. pc.ign.com give something a damn near perfect rating before and I like mayhem.
Somewhere in all this I need to find time to write. I’m trying to worry less about my obligation and more about ensuring I am a relaxed and happy individual, though.
