As of… damn, I shoulda written it down… sometime today, the first copy of my first album was burned to CD. It’s called one|thirty, it’s 50 minutes long and has 20 songs on it. (Lot of really short ones.) I have CD insert and cover artwork ready to print, so in the end I’ll have a really sweet jewel case complete with the UE cast inside the front flap. It’s mine. My album. I made an album. *beams with pride*
Of course, I’m still a hobbyist tinkerer and the sound mix isn’t all that hot and the volume tends to wobble from quiet to loud from track to track and I still can’t carry a tune in a bucket. No way in hell would this thing get published by an RIAA chum-bucket scooping upper management type, and it’d likely sell next to no copies if put in a store… but, it’s still MINE MINE MINE and it feels so awesome to be physically holding ‘my album’. I could’ve fit another 15 minutes on there, but I figured since I have new loop libraries coming in soon and I had a good round number of songs, I’d go ahead and commit this puppy to CD before moving on to the next set of songs.
Since the disc also acts as the complete soundtrack to UE (7 of the 20 tracks are UE songs), I’m likely going to have some kind of contest once UE gets rolling with complete jewel boxed copies of the thing as the prizes. This has a few songs on it that I haven’t posted anywhere on the net, and I’d autograph it, so who knows what its eBay value could be after I’m either rich and successful or dead in a puddle of my own vomit in a cheap motel off I-270? Stay tuned for info.
I stayed home from work today; I felt like hell this morning and had a headache carried over from the day before. On the positive, it helped me get this project done so I could obsess over it less. Wai!
