Forgot to write these in my last entry.
One. At least two reports from people who did escape the buildings talked about people in wheelchairs left behind because they couldn’t use the stairs. I doubt many disabled people got out of the WTC alive. There is no excuse for that; that’s basic fire safety procedures, not even some one in a million terrorist planning. If I was there and didn’t have someone who could carry me, I wouldn’t have lived — even if I was on the third damn floor. Sickening.
Two. While getting plenty of phone calls today, I got one which was a prerecorded telemarketing call with a cheery voice. “Hello! If you have even a few seconds, we have an offer that could save you money! Many Americans haven’t planned ahead for a possible death in the family–” I made a comment so off color it was in infrared and then hung up.
I don’t think I’m gonna write Ultra tonight. I’m oddly in a worse mood tonight than I was when things were going down. My heart’s just not in it.
