Gogettum. It’s not too different from the latter test versions, so if you’ve played through it already and are too damn lazy to download 350k, you can sit pretty as you are.
And… I HAVE SKEEBALL. The machine arrived today! For a twenty year old relic it’s in decent shape — has that ‘beat up from regular arcade use’ charm without actually being nasty and battered. Sort of midrange. It’s not the exact model I was expecting (there’s no 100 pots and the music is different) but it’s still a great machine, and VERY challenging.
Get this: the score to get the flashy-light wai alarm is 280. You get nine balls. (This is the easy mode; it’s supposed to be six!) That means you have to get 30’s down the board and one 40 in order to get the high score. Damn. It’s gonna take me a long time to master the machine enough to even get 280 by accident… and you know what? That’s fiiiine with me. I likes a challenge; arcade skeeball tables are usually pushovers with the score set to 180 and the pots nice and large. This puppy’s TIGHT and has small pots that you gotta be precise to land.
It cost me an arm and three legs, but it was worth it.
Oh, and here’s a preview of P#3: Hazard Pay. I was getting some NPCs and monsters ready, and figured, “Oooh, cast shot!”
