I’m trying to figure out in my head exactly what will go down in Penultima #3. It’s the least planned of the bunch; I know the general quest, I know I wanna put in lots of crazy stuff, but I don’t know the particulars of what happens and who you meet and whose blood you spill in vast quantities. I want to get on it fast… I’m on a roll with these modules, and the sooner I finish the campaign while NWN is hot, the better. Plus, it’s like reading a book — if I’m really into a book I CAN’T put it down to do something else until I finish.
The bug I hit last night, though, is worrying me. Nobody’s reproduced it in the field so far, but is P#2 safe to release? It’d be unplayable with that bug. *worry* It’s hard to know when it’s safe to let it out the door and when it’s not ready for prime time… I like my releases that aren’t specifically marked Draft/Test to be polished efforts, or at least as polished as I care to make them. Final form. Ready for consumption without fear of needing to re-consume later… which is what people will have to do when I do the redone version of Pest Control. *sigh*
Wow, I worry over the stupidest of things. I don’t think my life is in proper balance right now, but maybe the hallmark of creative genius is to never be totally sane and/or in control. Or maybe it’s an ego thing. Who knows? I’m not paying someone a hundred bucks an hour to debug me on a couch.
In other news, my Skeeball machine arrives today. I forgot if I mentioned this or not, but I bought an actual arcade-authentic skeeball machine. You have no concept what a passion I have for skeeball; when I go to arcades, half my time is spent playing it, and not just because the arcade is typically full of yuppie-oriented skiing and driving games I can’t play with my mutant flesh shell. Skeeball is addictive as hell. I hope the same rush applies when I have infinite tokens and no tickets to spend on cheap prizes, though. At that point I’ll be trying to perfect my high score / mean score. I do a lot of math in my head when I play. (“Okay, I’m 10 points under the mean, so if I make a 30 here it’ll bring me up…”)
I also caught the NWA-TNA pay per view last night, the only real alternative to the WWE. Overall I was impressed, but the obvious redneck-ploys (nascar and football) and the blatant sex (implant heaving skank go-go dancers in cages, Jasmine St. Claire doing a lap dance in the ring) did NOT work for me. I think I’ll only order episodes when there’s a great X division (See: Insane Cruiserweights) matchup on the card. The rest is either average, decent or insulting to my intelligence, none of which are worth 10 a week.
Smackdown looks lame tonight, so I’ll skip it and either severely strain my right arm playing skee, or work on P#1r or P#3. Or something. Dunno
