I gotta learn to stop making promises to “The Fans.” I’m not sure I’ll get any UE done before next week; my evenings, what limited time I do have have been to prepare for this weekend’s NWN gaming.
That’s right, PLAYING the game, not building it. Thanks to Neverwiner Connections I’m finally playing the game the way it was meant to be played — with other ROLEPLAYERS and a DM. D&D with people who like to play RPGs? Perish the thought! I’ve got a friday night Penultima session signed (mostly for kicks), a saturday campaign someone who liked my mods invited me into, and I’m DMing a ‘Special Edition’ of Pest Control I’ve been working on on Sunday. Being able to take control of Glod, Dawn and Sally and roleplay as them while properly encounter-spawning monsters jump around is gonna be fun.
I’m also working on a module (hopefully to be a series, but not a ‘campaign’ of linked stories) based in the Penultimaverse but designed for DMing on NWC. It takes less time to design one of these since you don’t have to do much scripting; all the NPC actions are controlled by the DM. If all goes well, I might be able to make it a regular thing, since I FINALLY convinced my Linksys router to play nice and let me host a freakin’ game.
Add on top of that some Crazy Taxi, a pile of anime I haven’t watched yet, and hopefully an outing to see xXx and/or Signs… busy weekend.
I remember a few weeks back I decided to adopt a policy of doing whatever I wanted to which was fun rather than beat myself up out of guilt over not providing The Fans with what they want. I’m going to try to exercise that this weekend. I’m aware folks are waiting on UE, but it’s my life and I’ve got to live it. UE can wait. It will NOT *I repeat* NOT be cancelled or put on indefinite hold; I just want to have some other fun first. I’m sure folks understand.
I wish I had something else to talk about (notice my last entries have been sparse) but other than work being lame and my friend Josh having a nasty time of it, neither of which I really wanna write about, nothing has been going on. Foo.
OH! Wait! I remember!
I’ve got a local Clear Channel Communications ‘Alternative Rock’ station, 99.1 WHFS, which I’m really getting tired of. Every time I drive to work, it’s the morning show — which is generally okay, but invariably I hear one commercial break and maybe 2-3 songs, 1 of which I MIGHT like. Driving home is worse, with two breaks and 2-4 songs, 1 of which I MIGHT like. Then there’s the blatant payola songs “Here’s a new song by this guy called Jack Johnson which you’ll all really love… (insert cheesy, irritating accoustic Dave Matthews wannabe here)”…
I need an alternative to my alternative somethin’ bad. But lately my MP3 collection has not been rocking my world, since I’ve listened to the whole thing ninety nine times already. I don’t know if the CD player in my car works, either; last time I used it the CD nearly got stuck.
What do I do?
