Bit of a crazy night for Penultima work…
The monsters SweeneyTodd made for PR1 are… a wee bit nasty. The lowest level one of the bunch easily annihilated my level 9 fighter. Plus, whenever I ran into an encounter, it’d only use 1-2 of the 8 types of monsters, which meant I’d be fighting the same tiger-critter over and over and over. Glah. Todd’s working on modifying things now so they’ll be a bit easier and a bit more varied.
Also on the annoyance scale: my cute l’il sorceror seemed ‘buff happy’, constantly casting her defensive booster spells and then when it came time to fight, she’d run up to the monster and bonk it with her staff. …um, right. She got killed frequently, needless to say. I’m going to have to retool her spell set a bit. I don’t get why she was flopping here, but kicking butt in P#5.
Man, you never get a second chance to make a first impression, and if my henchmen are idiots from day one even with the AI boost scripts I installed… bad stuff. Folks will opt to go solo through the mods and miss out on a lot of the hench related subquests. Hopefully I can make adjustments.
Not as productive or varied of an evening as I was hoping for, but I guess you have to have some nights like this in order to have a good end product. Tonight I’ll monkey with it a bit, but I primarily wanna watch Smackdown with friends and relax
