Just felt like sayin’ that. It’s less of a video game and more of an experience. If it wasn’t for the weak, watered down weapons that take forever to actually kill an enemy it’d be perfect. I was listening to the soundtrack last night, while perfecting my ‘dark NWN mod’ idea…
With much thanks to rubylight, I’ve finalized the details. The mod’s name is Elegia Eternum (and believe me, it took HOURS looking for a good title…) There’s still some plot work to craft, but it’s got a solid beginning and ending — sort of a blend of a psychosurreal Sailor Nothing-esque nightmare (similar to the end of Hazard Pay) and a more traditional swords and sorcery myth. I’m not sure exactly how surreal I can get the NWN engine to be… ideally I’d want it a bit like Alice, but I have to be reasonable. I think I can get something decently weird enough out of it, if I try.
I’m adding a hakpak to it so we’ll have some custom skins and models and music, too, so it’ll be a big download but hopefully one of high artistic quality. The module will still be fairly short (1-3 hours) but should be a fun ride regardless.
I’ll probably put PR3 on hold for this — but since this will involve heavy scripting and special effects and cutscenes, it’ll be great practice for adding more complicated mayhem to the PR series. Whee! So, be on the lookout in the weeks ahead for this
