After a boring-yet-stressful day at work (explain that) I left an hour early to hit Best Buy. I needed to get a pair of headphones with one of those flip-down headset microphones… just the thing for DMing NWN games while voice chatting with the other DMs. (“Okay, I’m going to drop the Balor on their newbie butts when we turn the corner…”)
While there, I caved to temptation and picked up a copy of Unreal Tournament 2003. I swear, those tiny little boxes make them FEEL like they’re cheaper impulse buys; less intimidating. I wonder if that’s one of the reasons computer games switched to small boxes? It means crappy paper CD sleeves instead of solid jewel cases, though…
Got home, installed while making dinner, played. Mindless violence! Woohoo! And it’s actually a lot of fun — the graphics are nice, the control is good and even my pathetic, 0-day newbie ass managed to get a few frags when playing online. Helped that I had a ping of 23ms, though.
Sat around a bit waiting for sis to come home, worked on her sorceror for this friday’s campaign, watched bits and pieces of Raw Is All About The Game (And How It Annoys Me). No work done on PR3 or preparing the Hodge Podge campaign. I’ll have to get to those things tonight, HP notably; it has to be ready to go for friday and I still don’t have the Menhir base scripts in. (worryworry)
And… that’s it. Basic update.
