Too busy to be depressed this week. I have a major project at work, and each night this week I’ve got something going on, usually NWN related — running through Penultima with jengagne and lostboydv, doing the Hodge Podge campaign, and helping with the Menhir series. Stuffstuffstuff.
The practical upshot of this is that once I get Jenny up to speed, we can collaborate on salvaging PR3. I thought of some alternative plans — do the remainder of the series as fiction, cancel the project, etc. — but it Needs to be finished and it Needs to be finished the way it started, as NWN mods. And no, before anyone asks, I can’t finish it at PR3. There has to be a PR4 and PR5, that’s how the story is set up and anything shorter would be a cheap and dirty hack. That’s why I’m getting Jenny up to speed, because until you understand the backstory I have planned it’s too hard to make suggestions on how to fix it.
In other news, I’m thinking of buying a Tivo. WWE has been sucking ass so very badly, Futurama’s about to start airing on Cartoon Network, I keep missing the neat shows on Adult Swim, and Dragonball Z is on at a bad time for me. All of these things would be fixed by a Tivo, since I could effortlessly record them without juggling tapes. Especially the wrestling; I could skip around a lot through crappy wrestling angles while getting to the good stuff without feeling like I have to sacrifice four hours a week to Vince Goddamn McMahon. Instead I can sacrifice 1.5 hours WHENEVER I FEEL LIKE IT and only see what I want to see. Now I know why Mom tapes her soaps every day instead of watching them live.
I looked at ReplayTV vs. Tivo, and while they’re both on near-equal ground, I’m not looking for complicated programming or internet sharing features. I just want the thing to frickin’ work. And since they basically both have the same storage capacities I’ll take the simpler solution.
Problem #1 becomes working it into the rat’s nest of audio/video cabling behind my television and somehow getting it to cope with my cable box, but that’s what jssaxon is for. ^_^
…now I just need to find enough time to go to Best Buy and, y’know, buy one. What with all the stuff I’m up to this week. Oi.
