It seems I’m having to replace a lot of core systems of NWN to make this work — which is for the better, really.
Today I stopped using standard NWN encounters and used my own coded ones. Advantages? Balances properly (hopefully…) for multiplayer, allows monsters to drop proper treasure like food items and spirits, and locks you off from progressing through the stage until you kill all monsters in this ‘encounter’. Monsters can also pop up dynamically, like a nearby door opens and out pops two ninjas — that’s a must for fun, dynamic battles in a brawling game.
And most importantly (to me), this lets me do my Final Fight tribute I’ve been keeping under wraps but is way too fun to not talk about… when you clear out a section, little “GO! –>” signs pop up in low-resolution 16 colors that blink on and off while beeping for attention. Muwaahahahahaha. OLD SKOOL
Okay, off to Josh’s party. God, I’ve got FoD music and code running through my head… I got the music done, btw. Managed to get seven pieces that work pretty well. Oh, and I posted the casting call to another community which apparently is refuge for lots of ex-FLAVA people after FLAVA crashed awhile ago. Go fig.
