No modwork, no projects, no looming deadlines, no crunch. Just… time. Gonna watch my Tivo backlog (or some of it, at least), play some PSO, do a little RP later, and CHILL. It feels pretty good knowing that I can just slack and enjoy my slack without feeling like something’s hanging over my head.
After my initially nasty experience on X-Box Live yesterday, I had a more overwhelmingly positive experience after. I think the problem is that the first game I tried was the Moto GP demo, and I happened to jump into a room with a bunch of complete pricks. Once I really got in and played more and more I found folks who DIDN’T swear, who generally worked together and even some who were friendly to newbies like me — including a guy who walked into the lobby and said ‘Okay, any newbies in here want to plow through the forest? I’m gonna start a game for them.’ and we had a nice stomp session. I guess in PSO, you really HAVE to work together or everything falls apart, and since you have instant comraderie with anybody who owned the Dreamcast version it gives you a good base to work from.
It’s still not idyllic and wonderful, but it proves what I was hoping — if you meet the RIGHT sorts of people a good time can be had by all.
*sniff* Okay, ONE obligation this weekend — shower. I stink. Excuse me.
