Yeah, I was poking around the Zany Video Game Quote Archive this weekend. Especially fun was the section on Segata Sanshiro, advertising mascot for the Sega Saturn who randomly judo-throws the hell out of innocent people and demands they play Saturn games. His theme song is now in regular rotation in my MP3 list, and the Bomberman ad where he judo throws someone and they EXPLODE IN A MASSIVE FIREBALL upon landing is a thing of great beauty and poetic majesty.
Also in the MP3 rotation is Lord of the Rymes latest hit, “Nine Fingered Frodo”. You know, for a gimmick novelty act net meme thing, these guys ROCK. Kind of like MC Hawking and Weird Al, you take a funny slant on something but back it up with cool beats and good stylin’ and you’ve got a damn fine musical experience. It’d probably make Josh internally hemmorhage to hear me call it ‘music’, but hey, I digs it. Ranks up there with the Super Mario Bros. remix of Nine Inch Nails’ “Closer”, except maybe a bit more listenable.
Outlining the hell out of the remainder for UE11 now. I’m a bit worried it has too much encroaching doom, but that’s the norm for any Multi episode — how does ordinary guy and worrywart Mallory cope with an unstoppable juggernaut bent on his destruction? By worrying, of course. That’s normal.
Yuri fans will appreciate some minor Kisei/Lorelei interaction in this ep, which I’m gonna build on to bring these two closer together — but I’ll warn up front, no, they are not going to be luvluv romantic interests for each other. Just so nobody lynches me when a potential boyfriend shows up and I don’t have hawt Sapphotic action going on by the finale.
Oh, and for those who haven’t thought of donating to my PayPal box in thanks for the modules and writing, let me just point out my latest expense report…
$175: Penultima artwork comissions
$50: Asian loop library for Fist of Discomfort’s music
$40: Shadows of Urentide expansion for future modules
$???: Fist of Discomfort artwork comissions
$20: Japanese translation services for Fist of Discomfort
And so on. Show the love, folks. Granted I am not in danger of starving anytime soon, but at least you can know that your donations are DIRECTLY going towards funding my creative projects and not just towards Doritos and PS2 games…
