After a long and rambling previous post, here’s a semi-short and to the point one.
FoD looks ready for a new demo release either today or tomorrow. Level 2A is in, the boss encounter works (and is pretty cool compared to Sneer) and all that’s left is to code in a few new subsystems, like cut-scene catch-up for multiplayer and a score ranking displayer. After that I’m sitting on the game until it’s done, since integrating the art and voice is no easy task.
My GBA SP arrives today! Huzzah! I already have Advance Wars and Tetris DX which shipped earlier. I can’t believe GBA games don’t come with plastic cases! Do they WANT us to get ’em damaged so we have to buy the game twice? …yes, probably. I highly recomment Tetris DX, by the way; it’s hard to find but it’s the best Tetris I’ve ever played. It tracks your all-time best scores, has four game modes which make SENSE in Tetris, and you can even pause the game and then turn OFF the system… and resume playing next time you turn it on. Nice.
Not as worried about being unable to actually hold and play the GBASP now… shachihoko noted that it’s similar in shape/size to a Gameboy Pocket, and that was my dream handheld with a perfect shape and size for me to hammer out pokemon sessions or tetris matches between classes back in college. W00t.
Alright, back to work. Just gotta survive one full day on the job and then I can go home, play games, and relax for the weekend…
