…I promise not to let it interfere with NWN or UE. I mostly wanted to prove I had the technology to do it — and now I do.
Chopper XP to get the clips (although if they’re CSS encoded I may need to rip the whole damn vob…). DVD2AVI to produce a wrapper around them. AVS to wrap around that, dynamically resizing them to 480x360x24fps so I don’t have to do it later — why not? It’s a processor hit but this is a 2.4ghz machine and I don’t mind. Edit the clips together in premiere. Export with DivX 5 video and uncompressed audio — recompress the audio alone in Virtuadub using Lame-MP3.
Voila! AMV. And with a minimum of HD expenditure since at no point do I have to deal with Huffy/uncompressed video. The nastiest thing is the VOB and even that is MPEG-2!
…anyway, enough mumbo jumbo. I’m off to piratey phun.
Update: Awww, man! I was gonna do a ‘racing’ action video using Scramble Wars, but they never released Superdeformed Double Feature on DVD. Phooey. Well, I’ll think of something else for my first slapdash amateur effort.
