Floating Point now has a proper website, with a peek into things to come. It’s not much, yet… a chapter list, some share buttons, little else worth note. But it’s a start. The WordPress template is in place, the CSS is styled, the font is loaded. It’s the impetus I need to get started on writing.
What’s Floating Point, you ask? It’s my 2015 writing project. It’s a cyberpunk novel set within Netwerk, a connected world of servers and sentient programs, living out the patterns of daily life. But in a world based on zeroes and ones, people often forget how there are so many numbers in between the integers…
Now, I can’t promise a weekly schedule yet. Still a lot to figure out. But, I’m aiming to have SOMETHING up for Halloween, why not. Keep an eye on the blog and keep an eye on that page; there’s so much more to come, and you’re going to want to be in on the ground floor for this.
One thing I’ve been considering is a Patreon for this project. The idea is that people who donate $X per story update (but you pick your max spend per month) will get early access to draft updates. But “early access” is just that, early access. The content will still be available for free on the website on a week to week basis, save for the retail-only bonus chapters. That way you don’t need to feel obliged to support me as a patron, you can still read as ye wish instead. I don’t know how much realistic support this would have, though; only 20-25% of folks picked this as an option they’d enjoy on my exit poll. What do you think? Would you be interested in participating? If so, post below.
Oh, and finally… why not enjoy some Let’s Plays of Town of Salem I’ve been recording? It’s a fun and wild and occasionally horrifying Mafia-style party game, and since I’ve been digging it so much, I figured I’d share a few sessions in video format.
Sapient software. Patreon ponderances. Pilgrims stabbing each other. Strange times in the Fiction Factory. More to come… including the City of Angles vol//003 book, which will be going live hopefully within a month. Watch this space.
