Alex Gunthar & Belle Pasadina

The most popular virtual character in history, Alex Gunthar is an artificially intelligent actor who appears on Love & Hate, an ongoing virtual soap opera. His code was designed by Belle Pasadina, who took over the LHART system that her father Art Pasadina created. He's a gruff, unshaven anti-hero who hides his heart of gold beneath layers of cold exterior -- she's a soft-spoken and shy programmer with a pretty face and beautiful red hair. And their fates are very much entwin'd.

Compared to the other characters on the show, Alex feels larger than life, with more depth than a computer program probably should have. That's because unlike his peers, he's sentient -- an innovation of Belle's, going above and beyond the capabilities her father originally designed. An unforseen consequence of this sentience is that he also fell in love with Belle, or perhaps it was the other way around... both of them are aware that this love could be false, it might just be his coded personality or her insecurities... but at this point, they're willing to take the risk if it means not being alone anymore. Awwww...

The problem is, Alex is trapped within the Love & Hate structures, and Belle is bound by a ten year company contract. Both are stuck where they are, and are not free to explore the joyous future of romance they want. This looks unlikely to change any time soon.

You may not kill Alex or Belle. You may not have Alex or Belle escape their situation without Stefan Gagne's permission.
