No City of Angles this week, as mentioned last week. I do have two scenes for 008 written up but they’re not ready for prime time. I should have something to show you next week.
Meanwhile, let’s summarize what’s been going on around these parts…
- City of Angles 007 just wrapped up, and your feedback is welcome. You can post it in this post, if you like.
- The City of Angles Kickstarter will launch at the start of March. Honestly it’s about ready to launch now but I want to have a good portion if not all of 008 done first.
- anachronauts: stars fall is now available on sale in paper and ebook forms.
- Folks asking about a Second Age or even an Unreal Estate book, I’m making those into stretch goals for the CoA Kickstarter. So, get your wallets ready.
- In personal news, I’ve been prepping a home theater PC! Which is now prepped and done and awesome.
That should do it. Enjoy Catch Up Week. I know there’s a lotta readers who aren’t all the way up to the current story, so this’ll be a bit of breathing room to squeeze in some reading before we plow into the big finale of 008.

Completed my set two days ago. Gagne sites next to Tolkien.

If you could post when the Kindle editions of Anachronauts are reformatted, that’d be great. Going to get the series at that point. Been waiting this long, so want to get the best version possible.
Stefan "Twoflower" Gagne says
Sure thing. In fact I’m gonna buzz Chu about it, now that the initial announcement wave around SF has died down — I didn’t wanna pull the books out of the store for a refresh right after making a huge announcement. I’ll be posting when it’s ready.

And now we all know where that Dave-is-getting-a-new-TV scene came from :)
Stefan "Twoflower" Gagne says
Heh. Nah, this is unrelated — Dave doesn’t have an HTPC.
I was making do by putting files on another computer which then streamed them to my Playstation 3 over the WiFi, but… video streaming over WiFi kinda stinks on ice. So I replaced that computer with a better one, hooked it RIGHT up to my TV, and now it’s fun on-demand with no streaming needed.

In preparation, is there a backing level that will receive a potential Second Age or Unreal Estate book if stretch goals are reached?
Stefan "Twoflower" Gagne says
Afraid not. I don’t even know if those goals will be reached, so I can’t make the reward tiers promise items that might not exist. It’d be against Kickstarter’s terms.
KS is meant to be a funding system first and foremost, and a preordering system second. Even if I could somehow work those two books into the tiers they’d have to be VERY high… otherwise I wouldn’t actually be able to fund them at all, because I’d be paying more for producing the preordered copies than I was getting to make them happen. If that makes sense.
If there is CONSIDERABLE interest in the books and the goals aren’t met, I may launch new Kickstaters later for them. But I sell at best a dozen copies of each book, on the whole. I typically operate at a loss, so I’d prefer to focus on books that will be less lossy than others.
