So people have said to me, “Stefan, I really like your books, and I like having a nice tangible physical paper product in my hands because it helps me realize that my hands exist and I am real and I am not in fact a disconnected mind floating away into the void. But sometimes I like reading things on my phone, or my computer. Do I really have to buy your paper book AND another copy in eBook format in order to have both? That seems excessive.”
To which I reply, “Now you can have both!” and also “You are not real and you never were, but you can fool yourself into believing otherwise and in fact I highly recommend you do so if you want to have a happy life.”
In short, you can now buy a paper copy of any book I’ve published, and get a Kindle eBook copy for free. It’s Amazon’s new MatchBook service and it kinda rocks. In fact, if you ever bought one of my books from Amazon, you’re already enrolled in the service and can go pick up your free ebook from Amazon at your leisure.
At the moment only City of Angles vol//001 – Bedlam is available for this service, but within a few days all the anachronauts books will be available. And you can buy the paperbacks now and get the ebooks later once they are in fact available. They’re being surprisingly nice about this; most digital media empires would sneer at the idea of getting a free ebook if you happened to buy a few days before they were made available. They would sneer, and spit, and claw, and rub offal in your eyes. They are not nice people and should not be trusted. But here, at least, you can trust them.
(Note this doesn’t work the other way around; you can’t buy an eBook and get a paper book for free. That would be cutting me own throat.)
This Saturday, coa//014’s grand world-shaking finale happens, in which much is revealed about the true nature of the City of Angles. Then I’ll likely take a week off to organize up //015 and maybe move a few drafts into finals.

YAY. This is so much better than the earlier paradigm of Amazon’s old required minimum price on the Kindle version.
