Weeeee’ve got press coverage! Rogues Portal did a quick overview of the game, but really seem to get right to the heart of it:

I like that the preview immediately noticed how this is about plausible relationships and friendships first, and romance second. Unlike pigeon dating simulators or tank dating simulators our hook is our environment, not just “Hey, go bang this random category of people and/or inanimate objects.”
Arcade Spirits does have romance later, of course… built on top of the relationships you’ve already developed. Anybody who’s read my books knows that’s how I roll, and I’ll do my best to deliver on that for ya.
In fact this month I’m writing chapter 05, which is where things shift from being about keeping the boat afloat and into really zeroing in on your special sweetie. That means lots of writing, basically, which is solid stuff… but doesn’t make for great developer blog posts.
So this week, I’d like to talk feedback.
We’ve been getting some good negative feedback lately! That’s not a contradiction — knowing the places that just aren’t working is important, because we’re early enough in the process that we can MAKE it work for the final release. Bug reports, characters that don’t ring true, moments where you feel railroaded, things like that… all very good to know about.
Your feedback is critical, so if you’re in the $5 club and have played the demos — or even if you’re just iffy on something you’ve seen in these blog posts! — please, please, PLEASE let me know. At this stage your views can be spoken loud and true, and we can act on them. And on the flipside, if there’s something that’s really delivering for ya, something you’re totally into… let us know! That way we can provide more of the special sauce you’re looking for.
More to come in the weeks ahead; we’ll be working through the holidays to make sure you’ve got something to look at. Thanks so much for your support.
