Embarrassing Anime Fanfic About Anime
Everybody goes through a phase where OMG ANIME IS THE COOLEST THING EVAR GOKU COULD BEAT UP EVERYONE. I had mine, as well. I apologize in advance for how bad some of this is. Still, my initial bout with Z-list Internet Celebrity came from anime fandom and it is a fine way to get your feet wet when it comes to writing. Can’t knock it too much. What starts as a simple quest to find some long lost magic eventually steamrolls into a battle for the fate of the world, digging deep into the backstory of Slayers (which I mostly made up as I went along, so canon twonks need not apply.) Won a few awards.Also pioneered my preferred writing method: using the web to publish HTMLized stories, AS I write them so I can collect suggestions and comments as I go. Moved the fanfic experience from dry finalized ASCII in an e-mail to a living, breathing website with a small community of readers. |
