...I honestly have no idea where to begin.
I'd like to thank everybody who's read this far,
all the fans of the trilogy, but there isn't really any satisfactory way
to express exactly how much thanks I have for you guys. Even through
writer's block, homework and countless delays, and also through the long
periods of really intense writing during the summer, you guys have stuck
to the series and helped me beyond the call of duty. With e-mailed
C+C, editing revision suggestions, or even countless letters just saying
how much they liked the series; I know some of you felt uneasy sending
letters like the latter, since they weren't 'constructive', but I think
they still helped me get through the tough times.
When I started Slayers Reflect, it was more of an
experiment than anything else. Could I write something other than
Ranma 1/2 and still draw an audience? Did I know the characters well
enough? Could I write for a series that was so fuzzily defined?
Could the whole thing be done primarily on the web, and would HTML fanfic
catch on? I'm pleased to report that all of the above can be answered
with a resounding 'HAI!'. I never realized when I was starting exactly
how far it would go, and the end results have exceeded all expectations.
Now, I don't like to announce future projects in
footnotes -- it tends to jinx them -- but I do want to make it clear that
this is not the end of Slayers for me. As visitors to the page have
noticed, I've reserved space to start doing Slayers Oneshots; short stories
and other endeavors that fall outside the winding narrative of Slayers
Trilogy. I can't promise these will be done in a timely, new stuff
every day (or week) fashion, but you may not want to delete those bookmarks
just yet...
I suppose that about does it. It's been a
wild year of writing, and I thank you for riding. Be seeing you...
